Dr. Hewitt is a Board Certified Pediatric Chiropractor who is also certified in Craniosacral Therapy. She has been in private practice since graduating summa cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College in 1988. In her practice, which is limited to pediatrics, she specializes in the care of infants and young children.
In her quest to increase children’s access to chiropractic care, Dr. Hewitt writes and lectures to audiences nationwide. She has been published in the scientific literature and is a co-author of the Chiropractic chapter in Integrative Pediatric Medicine, part of Andrew Weil’s Integrative Medicine textbook series, to be released in March 2009.
Dr. Hewitt currently serves as President of the American Chiropractic Association’s (ACA) Pediatrics Council. She is a founding member of both the ACA Pediatrics Council and the Pediatrics Council of the International Chiropractors Association (ICA). In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the multidisciplinary Integrative Pediatrics Council, for which she is the current Executive Committee Secretary.
In recognition of her service to and achievement within the chiropractic profession, Dr. Hewitt has been elected as a Fellow into the International College of Chiropractors.
In addition, Dr. Hewitt currently serves on the steering committees for several large-scale studies being conducted in the field of pediatric integrative medicine.
Most importantly, Dr. Hewitt loves introducing others to chiropractic care. It allows her to share chiropractic’s amazing capacity to clear the way for a colicky baby to find peace, for an asthmatic child to breathe deeply and for all children to return to a path of true health and wellness.
